The Heart of America is the heart of contract research according to a study conducted by Massachusetts - based Simon Management Group. The study reveals Kansas City is an area rich with resources that big pharma and startup biotechs look to in supporting research programs. In the past three years, nearly every major pharmaceutical company has partnered with a Kansas City-based organization with expertise in each phase of research. The CROs in Kansas City account for over 9,000 jobs in the metro area.
